Another awesome amazing warm January day on the Austin Greenbelt. It didn't hit the predicted 77f and it got cooler as night approached, but it was still a warm January day. I stuck to the rock easily on even the thin crimpers of Budda (5.12a) and Cloud Nine (5.11c). Hernan, Valeria, and I ran into Marla on the way in. She was meeting Courtney and Shanna, who I knew, and Sarah, who I now know. I got some excellent hard climbing in with Hernan and Valeria and I also got to help setup routes and spew beta with Marla. So I got to climb pretty much every route on the New Wall and teach at the same time - which I love doing - so it was an awesome day. I failed to get pictures of newclimber Sarah, but she did excellent for getting halfway up Meet the Flintstones (5.9). Now if only this hadn't been a Sunday and we'd all been able to go out for margaritas afterwards...
Picture #2 (above) of Hernan is blurry, but I still like the dynamics
Hernan helped me remember my own drop-knee beta for Budda. The trick is to start the move already with the arms aready locked off and the knee already down. The move is still slightly dynamic, but it's no-longer a dyno.
Valeria sets the background color theme for the day with her pink and camo shirts
