Well, what can I say. Another awesome workday at Reimers. Participants included (but were not limited to) John Myrick, Tara Foster, Kaci, Super Mario, Scott Lochmann & friends, etc. When I arrived, John had already set up several topropes and Kaci was working on "Almost Nothing to It" (5.9). Tara and I then warmed up on Reimerama (5.10a) just to the right. Since John had set up a toprope on "Mario's Route" (5.12a) I tried to get a toprope "onsight" and missed the second of the top two boulder moves. Oh well, it turned out to be a great route and I topped it 3 times before swim time. Tara tried it after me and got hung at the top, so we set up the slightly easier, but still tricky, Centipede (5.11a) as the final route of the day - and she did it. Thanks for taking pictures Kaci. John had to guide a client for a few hours and Tara had to bail for work at 3:30. Kaci joined John for a bit of the guiding over at Zoe's wall and I went for a swim. The group climbing next to us at Dead Cats was already in the water, so I decided to swim a lap down their way. The water was perfect. I ran into one of the people I met, Scott, out at Stubbs later in the evening where "Los Lonely Boys" where playing [Excellent Stevie Ray style slightly-blues guitar with Mexican flair]. |
