Mike sets up our rappel into the Planetarium. I took another picture of
John, Minna, & Marissa before jumping over the edge myself.
Once I got down, I belayed Mike up Andromeda(5.10+) while the others lowered
down. Mike remembered that he thought it was odd when I yelled up to ask
him how much further he had to go to the anchors 10 meters from the top.
After lowering him down, I showed him the copperhead that I had found next
to my bare foot at the belay station (i.e. not good if your belayer gets
bit by a poisonous snake). Mike held the snakes's head with a stick so I
could pick him up.
After Marissa went up Andromeda on toprope, I got to lead it and Minna followed
it up. I took a few pictures of Minna, but they didn't turn out. John attempted
to lead The Milky Way(5.11) (
and someone used his camera to get pictures (send me pics, John, and I'll
stick them up).
Paul had injured his foot during the night and was waiting back in camp, so Minna
and Marissa headed out early all sweaty and gross without even taking a
swim. After Mike led The Milky Way twice, I cleaned it, and we walked from
the snake-filled grass to the water. The water was completely refreshing
as usual. After splashing around a bit we scrambled up to the cliff tops
again. Louie then noticed that she had forgotten her hat down by the river
so John, Mike, and I waited on the ledge and took pictures while Louie ran
back to the water.
